Dark Sky Ensemble

Ambient & cinematic guitar — solo or with violin

In the high valleys between the Sangre de Cristos and the Collegiate Peaks, the sky still gets dark enough to lose yourself in. The Dark Sky Ensemble comes from that same quiet — textural layers of guitar and effects that stretch out like the space between stars, filling rooms the way light fills a canyon at dusk.

Everything is built live. Loops are laid down and layered in the moment rather than played back, which means the set bends to the room: longer and slower when the evening wants it, brighter when it doesn't. It fills a space without ever competing with conversation, a presentation, or a meal.

Lineups

Solo

Guitar & effects

One player, live looping, no backing tracks. The most flexible option for tight spaces and the easiest to fit into a corner of a room that wasn't built for music.

Duo

Guitar & violin

With Wendi Westman on violin. The violin carries melody over the guitar beds, which turns the ambient wash into something closer to a film score — the right call when the music is meant to be listened to rather than lived alongside.
