The Fusionistas

Funk & fusion — solo, duo, or trio

The Fusionistas is the other side of the coin: groove-forward guitar with room to stretch. Funk pockets that sit down hard, fusion heads that go somewhere, and improvisation that reads the room in real time.

Same live-looping approach as the ambient work, aimed in a different direction — the loops become a rhythm section instead of a wash. It's music for the part of the evening that's picking up rather than winding down, and it holds a room's attention without needing the room to sit still for it.

Solo

Guitar & effects

Live-looped bass lines and rhythm parts built on the spot, then soloed over. Full sound out of one player and one footprint — the option when the space or the budget is tight.

Duo

Guitar & drums

With Brent Taylor on drums. A real drummer changes what the groove can do — the pocket breathes, the dynamics open up, and the set can push harder than looping alone allows.

Trio

Guitar, drums & bass

The full band. Bass frees the guitar from holding down the low end entirely, which opens up the arrangements and the improvisation. The right call for festivals, patios, and rooms that want a proper show.

Booking The Fusionistas

What to Expect

What I Need — Solo

  • Space: ~8' x 6' minimum
  • Setup/teardown: 20 minutes each
  • PA: Can bring my own or use yours
  • Power: One standard outlet

What I Need — Duo

  • Space: ~12' x 8' minimum (drum kit)
  • Setup/teardown: 45 minutes each
  • PA: Can bring my own or use yours — three channels minimum
  • Power: Two standard outlets

What I Need — Trio

  • Space: ~14' x 10' minimum
  • Setup/teardown: 60 minutes each
  • PA: Can bring my own or use yours — four channels minimum
  • Power: Two to three standard outlets
